Mission Statement

DTS is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation organized in Massachusetts. DTS’s mission is to promote the social welfare and health of women thirty (30) years of age and older by providing, promoting and encouraging exercise and healthy habits and by fostering socialization and team camaraderie through participation in amateur sports. It is a well known fact in today’s society that a great percentage of Americans do not get enough exercise and do not practice healthy habits. Women thirty (30) years and older are particularly at risk for obesity and other health issues as a result of the dual roles taken on by women in the workplace and at home. While there are many opportunities for men to participate in amateur sports, there is a dearth of opportunities for women. Many women do not feel comfortable participating with men in co-ed sports. DTS provides women of all experience levels (from the experienced athlete to the newcomer rookie) the opportunity to exercise and improve their physical condition by participating in amateur sports that are targeted to women who have declining physical abilities as a result of age without the anxiety and discomfort that accompanies co-ed sports. Women from all over Massachusetts and New Hampshire are welcome to join DTS. Through participation in DTS’s sporting events, women are introduced or reintroduced to team camaraderie, socialization and the unending desire for self-improvement.

In the future, DTS hopes to purchase land and build an indoor and/or outdoor facility for women’s sporting events. The market for girls’ sports has grown immensely over the last decade. One of the goals of DTS is to foster the continued growth of girls’ and women’s sports by providing a forum where girls and women alike can share their passion and desire for exercise and sports without concerns regarding their self-image or competition with boys or men.
