Rules and Regulations

  • There are three fifteen (15) minute periods with 5 minute breaks between periods.
  • The game will be played either 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 (not counting the goalie).
  • Goalies must wear full goalie gear.
  • Street hockey balls are used.
  • Teams will be determined each week depending on attendance.
  • There shall be no intentional contact with another player.  Sportsmanlike conduct is required at all times.
  • There is no checking.
  • Offsides:  The ball/puck must cross the center line before any player on the offensive team crosses the center line.  If an offensive player crosses the center line before the puck/ball, the entire offensive team must “clear the zone” (i.e. retreat back over the line) before any offensive player can touch the puck/ball in the scoring zone.
  • Each player must have the following equipment: hockey stick with plastic blade and a mouth guard
  • It is recommended that players also wear shin guards and cross-training sneakers.
  • There is no arguing with the referee or any other player.  Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
  • All jewelry on hands and ears should be removed for safety reasons.
